Fantastic macro view of one of the strangest caterpillars on Earth. The head is on the right. The back is a large elaborate false head with eyes, nostrils, lips, and tongue. When it's scared, as seen here, it erects it's front half to make a very convincing small reptile or mammal. It will become an unknown moth. Rare. Monteverde Cloud Forest, Costa Rica.
