Welcome
Thanks for your interest in my work. I'm a photographer from Maryland (USA), carrying out international field work since 1998. My work has dealt with tropical and temperate forests, wetlands and wild birds, endangered primates, and cultural, social, and environmental topics in India and Peru. I've worked with environmental and social development NGOs in the Americas, South Africa, and India. I love animals, and I've written two photo books on stray dogs in India. See my Projects page and India Field Work pages for more about my work.
My photo library has about 12,000 images that you can browse by galleries, search, or keywords. I've done a variety of multimedia projects for conservation groups, including web development and aerial photo and Google Earth projects. Learn more on the services page.

Books
I have two photo books in print. The first is the official photo book of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve in Costa Rica, where I carried out field work for the Tropical Science Center (which manages the Preserve) over the course of several years. The second book is about the Las Nubes Rain Forest Reserve, also in Costa Rica, and was published by York University, Ontario, Canada. I've had the privilege and pleasure to do field work for York University's Fisher Fund for Neotropical Conservation for a number of years.

Workflow
I use a Canon 6d, replacing a 5d2, and Canon prime and zoom lenses from 17 to 300mm. The 6d has superlative low light focusing, in-camera geotagging, and top-notch sensor quality, better than the 5d2 even. I shoot raw and process to tiff in Lightroom and Photoshop. I try to keep post-processing to a minimum. I don't do any hdr, tinting, background manipulation, etc., or any retouching on portraits. I don't like or use any social media, or Instagram, etc..
I use Dreamweaver and Wordpress for web development, including my own site, and Photoshelter for my photo library. I use the 6d to shoot video, and Sony Vegas for video editing. Before digital I used Canon cameras and Fujichrome slide film.
Thanks
Thanks to my family, and my friends, colleagues, and clients in the US, Canada, Costa Rica, Peru, South Africa, and India. I appreciate your friendship and interest in my work. Being a photographer is a joy and privilege. I'm grateful for all of the opportunities that I've had to work in so many special places and meet so many great people.
