Rakesh, a three-year-old in a family of Nepalese immigrants laborers at a flood re-construction site in the Himalayan village of Phayang, Ladakh, India. Rakesh's family lives in a tent at 11,810 ft., where this was taken, right next to the construction site. His mother works breaking rocks and hauling sand all day. He's holding a knit doll given him by myself, made by a friend of my mom's.
